A Better Broker

I have been in the retail trading industry for around 20 years now. There has been a lot of change in that time – and not all of it good. I think trading has become gamified and has been opened to a whole new audience, many of whom should be going nowhere near it.

I think one of things that has slipped is the level of service – brokers have so many clients these days that you just do not get the help from experienced people that you did even 10 years ago, let alone in the early days.

What Am I Doing?

When I quit employment last year, one of the things I wanted to do was work with a broker and offer a “premium account manager” type service to people who were serious about trading, even if they did not have a £50k+ account.

I have been having this discussion for a while now with a couple of guys who have even more experience than me in retail trading, and who I really rate from working with them back in my IG days.

So, I am doing a partnership with them. They work for a UK regulated broker. Stuart Lane is the CEO; Will Hardy is head of partnerships. Stuart started his career in 1988 with City Index, Will started his on the LIFFE floor when trading was funny coloured jackets and hand signals.

Today is day one, so as usual for me I am going to be figuring it out as I go along.

What you get from trading with them

Really, really tight spreads. That has always been their main point. No frills, low-cost trading.

Trade Small: from as low as £0.1 per point and the equivalent in other currencies. If you have done the course, you know how important trade sizing is to me. If you have a small account, you can still practice sensible risk management.

Choice of platform: Web-based or MT4. I will be using the web one.

What I hope to add

I am looking to offer a level of service that you don’t get anywhere else. It is not advisory but at this stage the plan is:

Regular webinars (at least twice a month) on trading tips

In person events as the number of clients grows, to be held at various points in the UK initially.

Online is great, but I still think you can’t beat the old school way of actual meetups with people doing the same thing. Trading can be a very solitary experience.

One on one sessions for the more active clients.

And other things I have yet to think of – I am very much open to suggestions.

There is no fee for any of this – it will be available to all trading clients who open an account via me.

There are some gaps in terms of markets e.g., agricultural commodities, but I will be working with them on this.

As usual I will put my money where my mouth is and will be doing my trading with them.

It will not replace The Trading Course or the WhatsApp group – they will still be running.

If you would like to open an account, then use this link to try it out

It would help me if you could drop me an email to:

when you have, to make sure no one misses out on the various webinars etc. I am planning to do.

That is it. As usual if there are any questions then please get in touch.
